The Karachi American School is a Preschool - Grade 12 day school located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. For some time it was called "International School of Karachi", but now is called Karachi American School.

The Karachi American School (KAS)was set up in 1952 to provide an education to the children of five American families who worked for the United States consulate. Starting in a small house, the school grew as more international consular families started sending their children there in hope of providing them with a Western education. The school later moved to a larger campus, which it still uses today.

The school was accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in 1968.

Today, studying at KAS is considered to be a symbol of wealth with majority of the students coming from families which own prominent businesses or where parents are highly paid professionals. The tuition fees alone is over US$10,000 per annum, easily making KAS, Pakistan's most expensive school. Despite the high cost of education, many parents strive to have their children enrolled in KAS not only because of the high level of education offered but also because of the way students here are groomed.
